About this tool
Choose an output format, quality level and optional maximum width. The tool creates a new compressed image while leaving the original file unchanged.
How to use it
- Select one JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- Choose the output format, quality and optional maximum width.
- Compress the image and download the new file.
What reduces file size
Lowering pixel dimensions often produces the largest saving. JPG and WebP quality settings remove visual detail to reduce size. PNG is lossless, so its result may not shrink.
Worked example
Good to know
Always inspect the downloaded image before deleting the original, especially when the image contains text or important details.
